Detailed Itinerary

Drive to Samburu National Reserve in time for a late lunch, then enjoy afternoon game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Safari Lodge, Samburu Sopa Lodge, Larsens Sopa Lodge, or Joy Camp.

After breakfast, we shall enjoy a full day of game viewing in the park, famous for the Samburu semi-nomadic tribesmen, the reticulated giraffe, the Grevy’s zebra, the gerenuk, the beisa oryx, and a host of big game, including elephant and lion. Return for dinner and overnight at your lodge as previously.

After breakfast, we shall transfer south towards Lake Nakuru National Park. Lunch at Nakuru before proceeding for an afternoon game drive in the Park. This shallow soda lake is home to more than a million flamingos. The Lake Nakuru National Park also has a Rhino sanctuary. Also expect to see animals like lions and buffalo at the Park. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge, Mbweha Safari Camp, Lakira Camp, Lake Nakuru Lodge, or Eldorado Resorts Nakuru.

After breakfast, drive to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, proceed on an afternoon game drive in the game reserve, Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Although July, August, and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year-round. The famous Masai tribesmen live within the game reserve’s dispersal area. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sarova, Maji Moto Eco Camp, Mara Siria Tented Camp, Mara Bush House, or Kicheche Bushcamp.

After breakfast, we shall have a full-day game drive through the Masai Mara N.P. Expect to see a variety of wildlife. Return for relaxation as we wait for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, return to Nairobi (5-hour drive), have lunch, then fly to Kigali, Rwanda, for dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel, Manor Hotel, Step Town Hotel, or Chez Lando Hotel.

After breakfast, we shall have a Kigali city tour, during which we shall visit the Gisozi Genocide Memorial site, local art and craft, and the fruit markets, among other places. After lunch, have a 2-hour drive to the home of the mountain Gorillas. Arrival for dinner and overnight at Virunga Lodge, Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge, Bisate Lodge, Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, or Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.

After breakfast, we shall enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime event: gorilla trekking. Return to your lodge for lunch and relax as we prepare for lots of entertainment from the Banyarwanda cultural groups. Return for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

After breakfast, we shall have a briefing, then transfer to another adventurous activity: Golden monkey trekking. While in the bamboo forest, you can also expect to encounter other attractions like birds, tree species, and the wonderful relief, among others. Return to the lodge for lunch, relax, and then transfer to visit the beautiful twin Lakes, Burera and Buhondo. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we shall return to Kigali International Airport for your flight back home.
