Three-Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking to Volcanoes National Park
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trek, Departure
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival- Transfer to Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

Kigali Fruits Market
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by our professional driver/ tour guide, take you for lunch, take a city tour around Kigali, visit Gisozi genocide memorial museum, Local art and craft shops, and later hit the road to Volcanoes National Park with the spectacular scenery of the Virunga Mountains en route. It is a 90-minute drive, going through beautiful/majestic rolling hills that characterize much of Rwanda. Check into your hotel/lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Today, you participate in your gorilla trekking on the Rwandan side. The gorillas you are allowed to trek belong to one of the habituated family groups on the Rwandan side. Early breakfast at your lodge and assemble at the park headquarters at Kinigi for registration, allocation to a gorilla family according to your level of ability to track, and a briefing about gorilla tracking. Thereafter, you set out by
vehicle to the start of the tracking point, where you meet up with your guides and porters to begin the hike. Just as with your gorilla trekking in Uganda, you can stay and watch the gorillas for an hour once you have been allocated to them.
Trekking in Rwanda usually takes place at higher altitudes, starting at about 3,000 m above sea level. Also, the vegetation here means that, with a little bit of luck, the gorillas can be seen in a bit more open terrain, which offers better photographic opportunities. After returning to the lodge, there may be an opportunity to visit the local communities around Musanze town and visit the local markets or visit the scenic twin lakes known as Bulera and Ruhondo in the afternoon, depending on the time of your return from gorilla trekking.
